Brief info

Chin Pui Yu, Micro (1998-)

CHIN Pui Yu Micro is the younger of the Chin brothers. They studied under the tutelage of Mak Sifu since 2006 and were the first child students whom Mak Sifu took on. Prior to that, Mak Sifu had not taken on minors below the age of 12 as students as he had considered them too young to understand the principles of Hung Gar. The Chin Brothers’ talent and dedication has changed Mak Sifu’s perception. Indeed, learning Hung Gar, and later performing in school and taking part in competitions, has built Micro’s confidence and self-esteem as a young person over the years.

The Chin Brothers’ parents have been immensely supportive. The brothers since a young age would study with Mak Sifu on multiple days per week, attending his classes in the various sports venues all around Hong Kong which Mak Sifu was then teaching at, including Tai Wo Hau, Tsim Sha Tsui, Tai Wo, Tuen Mun. Since 2014, Micro has been an assistant teacher to Mak Sifu, and now teaches with Sifu at the Martial Club in Kwai Fong. He also hosts a regular Monday Community Class on Zoom with his brother, offering Hung Gar basics workout which could be enjoyed by beginners and advanced practitioners.
